No Evil is the artist’s interpretation of the Japanese proverb, “See no Evil, Hear no Evil, Speak no Evil.” The wisdom of the three women is highlighted through the use of gold leaf; the first, in her eyes; the second, over her ears; the third, over her mouth. The gold aura encapsulates them, as if to warn the viewer to heed their guidance.
